United Launch Alliance is hiring! We are seeking a Market Analyst 1 to join our team in Centennial, CO.
The Market Analyst 1 would lead and grow ULA s Market Intelligence & Analysis capability within ULA s Strategy and Business Development organization. As ULA refocuses on competing in the global market and with a significant USG domestic competition in the near term, knowledge of the domestic and international competitive landscape is taking on greater importance. ULA must be capable of understanding and responding to the worldwide competitive environment as it relates to launch.
This individual would lead the organization s capabilities related to Launch Market Research & Mission Forecasting, Market Segmentation, Customer Segment Analysis, Launch Market Historical & Future Trends, and will directly support Special Projects at the request of the CEO and Senior Leadership Team. This individual should have strong research and data analysis skills, be able to analyze a market segment and to distill fundamental characteristics and underlying factors that drive that specific customer & market segment. This position requires basic knowledge of the Launch Market, both in US Government and commercial markets. Individual would support and train ULA team members to build a world class market intelligence capability within the company.
In addition, this individual will play a prominent role in the larger Strategy and Business Development team. The team is responsible for overall ULA enterprise strategic planning, business development, competitive intelligence, market forecasting & analysis, marketing, and working with Communications to apply and disseminate the strategy to the company. The team is responsible for new business bids in National Security Space, NASA Science, NASA Crew & Cargo Programs, and supports bids in Commercial markets. This team is responsible for numerous strategic projects and initiatives that are directly accountable to the CEO. This individual would be expected to play an integral role in such projects and initiatives.
Cross-functional interaction and changing of responsibilities is not only an opportunity, but is encouraged. Individual should also have strong teamwork bent and be able to work closely with other organizations such as Finance, Washington Operations, Communications, Legal, Engineering, and the Senior Leadership Team.
Develops long-range objectives and strategic plans for corporation or major division by identifying internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability. Scans environment for business opportunities, maintains surveillance over market, and may perform financial analysis of acquisition candidates. Develops and monitors profitability, productivity, and growth targets. May prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans. Plans and coordinates business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures, and financial analysis. Guides and represents the company on legislative and regulatory affairs with elected officials and government officials in regulatory and other agencies and their respective staffs. Ensures company's product line is reflected to best advantage and lobbying activities are successfully pursued. Monitors progress of legislative and regulatory issues of interest to the company and provides analysis to company official. Develops strategy for and visits elected government and regulatory officials to advise them of company issues. Directs and works with designated trade and business associations, advocacy groups on political, legislative and regulatory issues of importance to the company.

* Direct market analysis and/or competitive intelligence experience in the Launch Industry
* Experience analyzing competitive markets, conducting competitor positioning analysis, and presenting findings to an executive-level audience
* Strategic planning experience in large organizations
* Direct experience with USG and commercial customers
